Cool stuff recently with Demetri Martin

September 20, 2011

Hey Demetri Martin fans. I know I’ve just been posting a bunch of showtimes recently (and I will continue to do so), so here instead are some of the cool interviews and other things I’ve found:

First up is an interview with Adult Swim, where Demetri talks about some of his favorite movies. It turns out that he likes a lot of movies from the late 1970s, including Life of Brian, Superman II, and Revenge of the Pink Panther.

Thinking about going to a live show? here’s a good review of his Just For Laughs show in Chicago, with pictures. Here’s another especially good review of his show in Melbourne.

Speaking of his Australian shows, here’s an eye-opening interview where Demetri explains his very specific flying needs. Wow.

Demetri discusses growing up a Greek American. Referring to Demetri’s father, deceased in 1994, in the present tense is always the biggest tell that the interviewer just read his wikipedia bio before coming up with questions. People bring it up more than you would assume.

In the podcast world, we have an interview on WTF with Marc Maron Podcast. I’ve never heard of Marc Maron, and he is… aggressive. If you want to get straight to the interview portion, I suggest skipping to 15 minutes in. It has a great basic autobiography of Demetri’s life, for those interested.

Of course, Demetri Martin just appeared on Jay Leno again, to discuss his (major) role in Contagion, and sassing drivers while skateboarding in this two-part interview:

Don’t forget that I have a constantly-updated list of interviews with Demetri Martin. It’s a nice source for anyone looking to learn more about his life.
